A new theme I want to try out ~ SILLY SATURDAY

Soggy Monday

This is the type of day when you just want to stay in bed or it brings you down. Though we hit 50+ degrees it has been raining heavily with high winds since last night. But when you are in a positive thinking mojo mode, you don't want the weather to get you down. It is January, and it is suppose to be crisp out with snow on the ground, but right now all the lawns look like small lakes. But, never fear, when the flooding warning and high wind warning end later tonight, we are immediately put under a lake-effect snow warning. The temperature has already started to drop so it is only a matter of time before the rain turns to snow.

Got to love this NY weather . . .

Ahhhhhhhh, the no nap day

These are the nights that I like. A no nap day and she put up no fight being put in her crib with her sippy cup. Now if she can just sleep through the night tonight it'll be great.

ETA: It was wishful thinking, lol.

The Early Mornings

Though I don't like being up this early in the morning, this seems to be the time that I can get some "me" time. Husband is sleeping as is the baby (who is the one that woke me up in the first place wanting a drink). The only noises I hear are the cats and dog walking across the floor waiting on their breakfasts. Okay, so they are pacing across the floor, and they are losing their patience with me. They sit and stare and when I don't pay attention to them one of the cats will come over and rub up against my leg as if saying "hello momma, feed us now, please and thank you." The only other noise is the constant ticking of the clock that is to my left.

Yes, the peaceful times. Now where did I put that can opener so I will stop getting stared at.

The fascination with water . . .

It does not matter if it is the pet's water dish or the toilet (which is why we keep the bathroom door shut), she has a fascination with water. She has the habit of dunking her building blocks in the pet's dish and trying to drink the water. It is not uncommon to walk out into the kitchen and see about 6 blocks in the dish floating in the water.

The "pickys"

We are hitting the stage where "we" are starting to become picky in eating. Em loves fruits and veggies, but she will only eat a few bites and then she is off again. She seems like she has so much stuff to do she doesn't have time to sit still and eat. She is now at the age where we need to get a booster seat so we can all sit at the table and eat together and she is going to have to learn that she eats while we eat.

The look of amazement

Every day I look at my daughter and think how did "this" become possible? I never thought I would find someone to settle down with, let alone have children. My girl is so amazing (don't all parents say that?!?)and the little things she does everyday make me smile. Out of nowhere she will just come up and hug you and she is always bouncing around. Okay, sometimes she is tormenting the cats, but most of the time she is being sweet.

Wow, the words are starting to flow now

Em has always been "talkative" but rarely understood. The words are really starting to flow for her now. She's been saying momma and dada for a long time, now it is mommy and daddy and her new words this week have been puppy and fishy. She also understands Grandpa. When she saw a picture of Dad that I have, she pointed at it and said "Poppa?" So, instead of calling Dad Grandpa, she is probably going to call him Poppa.

Her favorite thing to do is make the sounds that animals make. We didn't even know that she knew the sound that a cow made until we asked her and she replied, "moooooo." She must have picked it up watching Elmo. A funny thing is, if you ask her what sound a kitty makes she will "meow" but ask her what sound Frankie (our cat) makes and she "hisses." Because that is all she has known from him, he is always hissing. Its cute to hear her do it.

NFL Playoffs

Down to 8 teams ~ GO COWBOYS!!!!!

Yes, this momma loves sports. I've been a multi-sports fan for as far as I can remember. Cowboys, Red Sox, Seton Hall B-ball, BC Football. Though I have to admit, I don't watch a lot of college games.

Anyway, back to the NFL ~ once again, GO COWBOYS!!!!
