Meet Me Monday

Head on over to a wonderful blog that is run by Java. On Mondays she has a way for blogger (and non blogger)peeps to get together to learn a little bit about each other by responding to 5 questions and then linking your blog up, and I am happy to participate in this.

Do you want to check it out as well?? Sure you do, just click here, its easy and painless and then answer the questions on your blog and add your link:

The questions are this week:

Questions:

1. What is your favorite kind of potato chip?

I use to love Salt & Vinegar. I mean LOVE them. Would have them with some french onion dip and a bottle of Mountain Dew and nom nom nom. No wonder I have stomach issues, lol. Now I tend to go with Sour Cream & Onion.

2. Do you make your bed everyday?

No, but I know that I should. I'm going to have to start getting better at it. Normally when I do remember to make it, it is just about bedtime again.

3. How often do you go to the hair salon?

I haven't been to the hair salon in years. I really need to do something with this mess of a head I have. I do have a friend who can cut hair and she trims it up for me when she gets time to. But its been quite a while since I've had that done as well. I cut my bangs last, lets just say they didn't turn out so well.

4. What do you dip your French fries in?

Many choices. Ketchup. Bleu Cheese Dressing. Melted Cheese. Chocolate Shake. Of course, not all at the same time.

5 Do you shop with coupons?

Yes, I have to. Lately the coupons here have been stinky. You have to buy 6 to get .35 cents off. They don't double. Or they are all for cleaning supplies and health care products. I really need some "good food coupons."

Hope you all have a happy week!!

Feel Good Friday

Feel Good Friday is brought to you by The Girl Next Door Grows Up .

You know what time of the week it is ~ YES!!! It is Friday and that can only mean one thing. Okay, it means more then one thing, but for this post it means:

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY

I've been sick for the past couple of days and feel like I've been rundown by a truck (anyone get the license plate??), so I'm having a hard time coming up with what to feel good about.

I'm sure that good things have happened!!

Okay, I know that good things have happened.

But, everyone knows when your sick you brain is fuzzy and it is hard to think.

I have come up with a couple of things to share though.

The other night my little one was rocking it out to Louis Armstrong's "Hello Dolly." I mean really, how could that not bring a smile to anyone's face.

Then this morning when hubby got up, he took the blanket that he was covered up with a covered me up and tucked it all in so I would be nice and warm.

Come to think about it. Was he trying to keep me warm, or trying to stop me from moving?!? :-)

Anyway, I hope that you all have a wonderful Friday and a fabulous weekend.

1. What is your favorite kind of doughnut?

I love glazed donuts. I mean, love, love, love glazed donuts. The gooey, sticky mess that they are.

2. How often do you pray?

Not as much as I should. I do a lot of talking though to the man upstairs and to my Moms.

3. What is your favorite kind of music?

Have no "favorite" favorite anymore. I will listen to just about anything. Okay, I'll admit that I do enjoy 80's music and the hairbands. I also love southern rock: bands like Skynryd, 38 Special, Molly Hatchet, etc.

I also listen to country music as well.

My musical taste varies greatly. Grew up on everything from the old time country to rock 'n roll.

4. What do you order when you eat Chinese food?

Don't get this alot, but I do like the soft noodles and also pepper steak with rice.

5. Would you rather snowboard in the winter or swim in the summer?

No doubt my answer would be swim. Not the skiing type.

Are people in that big of a hurry?!?

I had to run an errand yesterday so the little one and I were out and about.

On the way home there was a vehicle in front of me (main roadway) that was doing about 55 mph, and traffic was moving along fine. Behind me was a Jeep (like a Cherokee) and then a white van behind him.

Well, the car in front of me kept speeding up and slowing down. You could tell that he or she was looking for something.

First time was at a store, he/she slowed down, then sped up. Then about a mile down the road they did it again at an old restaurant. I had backed off from them because I really had no idea when they were going to hit their brakes next. Then off we went again.

The guy in the jeep behind me is shaking his head and mouthing something, and pointing. At this time I thought it was directed to the person in front of me.

Finally, we come to another place of business, a doctor's office and the person in front of me slows down and turns their directional light on to turn to the left. I inched over to the right so as soon as they started turning I could go by on the shoulder.

Apparently Mr. Impatience behind me did not realize that there was a car in front of me, and was directing his anger towards me. At this time he decided to pull out into the passing lane not realizing the car was there and turning left.

It was like slow motion for a few seconds. I couldn't believe that he was just about next to me. I moved over as far to the right as I could get and he yanked his vehicle back in behind me. Not sure how he didn't hit me.

The kicker, the van behind him had pulled out to pass with him. Neither of them saw the car in front of me. I don't drive a tank, it wasn't hard to see this vehicle ahead of me.

Thankfully, Mr, Impatience didn't cause an accident.

A Hold Your Breath Mom Moment

I have had a few since we were blessed with Em. Most of them consisted of flips off of the bed onto blankets or a pile of clothes.

This one really made me catch my breath and take off on a dead run towards her.

Saturday we were sitting outside (hubby, myself, a friend of mine, Em, and my niece).

Em is running all over the place and my niece is chasing her down and bringing her back. She was actually tiring out my 8 year old niece.

Em ran towards the dog run with my niece in hot pursuit. The dog came out of her doghouse. Em is not afraid of my big old german shepherd so she just kept running. My niece on the other hand quickly veered off to the left to avoid her.

The dog kept coming.

My little girl kept running.

The dog kept coming.

I'm out of my seat and heading that way.

My little girl kept running.

You can only imagine what happened next.

The dog run caught her feet and she did a complete cartwheel, almost landing back on her feet, but sat down on her butt.

At this point I am running towards her. The dog is licking her. She is scared and crying, but unhurt.

My niece goes to her and picks her up and hands her off to me.

She get a complete check over and is fine. No cuts, bruises, nada. Just a bit scared.

Once we know she is alright hubby is like "dang, if we would have had the camera."

I'm just thankful she wasn't hurt at all.

She sits on my lap for about 2 minutes.

She jumps off.

And, you guessed it.

Takes off running towards the dog with my niece in hot pursuit.

1. Do you watch any Soap Operas?

I use to, a long time ago. Young & The Restless and Guiding Light. I haven't watched in years and years. I do get Soap Opera Digest (which was a freebie) that I skim through on occasion. Seems like the same things appear to be going on now that were going on then.

2. What appliance is used the most in your house?

That would be a tie between the microwave and the washing machine. Between a husband and a 2-year old, I do lots of laundry.

3. Do you wear make-up every day?

Ummmmm, no. I never wear make-up. I have very sensitive skin and thought that I never looked good in make-up. Maybe if I took the time to do it I'd have a different opinion of myself and how I look.

4. What is your worst pet-peeve?

Oh I have a few, not sure if this would be the worst one but people that are completely fake and lie to you. Ones that say that they are your friends when they are around you, but completely run you into the ground when you aren't around. Really, I could do a blog post or two about this topic.

5. What is your favorite lunch meat?

Every once and a while I get a hankering for corned beef sandwiches, but my favorite is a tie between roast beef and wunderbar bologna. Both have to be fresh within a day or two though. You know a roast beef with swiss, lettuce, tomato, mayo sounds really good right now.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful Monday and week.

1) My little one's smiles and all the new words she is learning (though I wish she would forget the word "no" at this point.

3) My new followers. I love having them here and I enjoy visiting their blogs as well.

4) Good friends calling on the phone to just say "what's up?"

The main purchase we want to make is for a toddler bed, and if you are looking for one for your little one then check out the various types of toddler beds they have.

Meet Me On Monday

Over the weekend I stumbled upon another wonderful blog that is run by Java. On Mondays she has a way for blogger (and non blogger)peeps to get together to learn a little bit about each other by responding to 5 questions and then linking your blog up, and I am happy to participate in this.

Do you want to check it out as well?? Sure you do, just click here, its easy and painless:

What is your favorite holiday?

My favorite holiday growing up and into adulthood was Christmas. I just loved the peaceful feeling of it, the spending time with family, helping out others when I could. Then we lost Mom right before Christmas and it became the most dreaded one for me. I didn't look forward to it and was unable to get into the holiday spirit.

Then along came my little girl a couple of years ago and she has brought the Christmas spirit back into me. Watching her eyes light up at the tree and seeing what Santa brought her, makes me smile.

What color clothing do you wear the most?

I tend to wear lighter shades of blue, green (love all shades of green), white, and peach. Like to wear light color clothes in the heart of summer here.

What is your heritage?

My family heritage is German.

What is your middle name?

It is just D. Easy to remember.

What is your favorite cookie?

Oh dang, I love, absolutely love, right out of the oven, melt in your mouth, chocolate chip cookies. When you bite into them the chocolate drizzles all over the place. Peanut butter cookies come in second, they are yummy as well (and also my husband's favorite.

Thanks again Java for hosting this and inviting me to join in.
