I have never (and I mean never) been a holiday cookie baker.  But as I was flipping through an Avon book I found these 3D cookie cutters and I knew that I would just have to give them a try.

Seriously, these look like fun.  You know how the kids sometimes run for cover when you try to get them to help you out with a little holiday baking?  With these, I believe that they will be a will participant.

What comes in the package:

~ Makes 6 different 3D cookie shapes.
~ Angel
~ Bell
~ Star
~ Reindeer
~ Snowman
~ Christmas Tree

The baking supplies are dishwasher safe and make pretty good size cookies.

Meet Me Monday

Head on over to a wonderful blog that is run by Java. On Mondays she has a way for blogger (and non blogger)peeps to get together to learn a little bit about each other by responding to 5 questions and then linking your blog up, and I am happy to participate in this.

Do you want to check it out as well?? Sure you do, just click here, its easy and painless and then answer the questions on your blog (or in java's comment section) and add your link:

The questions of the week are:

1. How many TV’s do you have in your home?
2. What is on your bedside table (nightstand)?
3. How many pair of shoes do you own?
4. Can you change a flat tire?
5. Do you prefer sweet treats or salty treats?

How many TV's do you have in your home?

Just a couple. One that was many years old just had the picture tube blow in it.

What is on your bedside table (nightstand)?

The clock and a lamp. Sometimes a magazine or two as well.

How many pairs of shoes do you own?

Not many. I have my sneakers and a pair of shoes.

Can you change a flat tire?

Oh yes. This is one thing that everyone should know how to do. Getting those lug nuts off though is a hassle.

Do you prefer sweet treats or salty treats?

Okay, straight up: I love chocolate. Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, doesn't matter, I love it. So, I would have to go with sweet treats. I have to admit though that I do love chocolate covered pretzels as well.

Have a great week everyone.

Feel Good Friday

Brought to you by the letters F,G,F (been watching way to much Sesame Street) and The Girl Next Door Grows Up.

It has actually been a couple of weeks (maybe more) since I have participated in this. Just seems like Fridays come and go and its the end of the day before I realize that I haven't chatted about what made me feel good.

One of the things that made me feel good this week is the update that was done on my blog. My friend Angela over at MommyPR really hooked me up, and I have gotten a bunch of positive responses from it. I really like it. Of course, as I'm typing this out at 6:00 a.m., as the house is all quiet, a ladybug is crawling up my arm. Coincidence?? I had to brush him/her off though because, yes, ladybugs do bite, but that is a whole separate post.

What else made me feel good? Well it just happened. The Girl Next Door was talking about their upcoming road trip and it brought back alot of fun memories I had with Mom. Her and I would get in the vehicle and just go. Most of the time it was to go and catch up with her Aunt, my Great Aunt Dora, who was on the road somewhere with Smokey's. It would just be her and I. Later, we use to go to the casino together and spend the night. Even when she got sick, she would still want to go. I treasure those moments. I miss those moments.

So, everyone, how was your week?

The Time Has Come

We are sure that this is going to be an adventure.

I've heard how bad the situation is that we have gotten ourselves into.

We really have no excuse for the delay.

But the time has come.

Yes.

We are in the process of moving our little one into her own bedroom.

I'm not sure why I have dragged my feet at this for so long.  I know I'm not ready for her to be in her own bedroom yet, but I also know that hubby and I need some more privacy and it is time to reclaim our bedroom.

Even with her in our bedroom I still check on her during the night and I know that I'll be checking on her more frequently now.

I wonder what it will be like for her the first time she wakes up during the night and realizes that she is in a room by herself? Will she be scared? Then I wonder what it will be like for me to wake up in the middle of the night and realize it is just hubby and myself in there.  Well, probably a pet or two as well.  Will I be scared? I'm sure I will be and at that point will get up and walk across the cold living room floor to check on her.

Yes, the time has come.

Updated

I need to send my many thanks to MommyPR for a very needed update to my blog.  She did a wonderful job and took care of all that orange.  Don't get me wrong, I do like the color orange, but after awhile it started to bother the old eyes.

Its funny out of all the blogger templates, that is the only one, that after a few days, didn't start to fade out on me.  That is why I had to change the templates so much.

But, what do you all think??

Thanks again Angela.

What are your favorite FALL activities with your kids?

My little one is still a bit young to come up with lots of things to do, but I'm looking forward to starting family traditions with fall activities.

I remember every year our folks packing us in the vehicle and heading to the orchard for apple picking. I swear we did more apple eating then we did picking, but it was lots of fun. Climbing trees. Drinking warm apple cider with those apple cider donuts. Brings back lots of memories.

The questions this week are:

1. Do you wear socks to bed?

You would think that living where I do (bitterly cold during winter) that I would. But unless I am sick, I go to bed barefoot. It seems like they control my inner thermostat. If I get to warm under the comforter then I can just stick my feet out and it seems to work.

2. Do you have any pets?

Yes. Have a rescue dog and a rescue cat, and we also have a feral kitten that we caught that is now a house cat as well.

3. What topping(s) do you like on your pizza?

My favorite would be just sauce, cheese and mushrooms. (Now I want pizza, thanks java :-) )

4. What time do you go to bed?

It varies. Anywhere between 9:30 and later. Last night I was in bed by 9 because my back was really bothering me.

5. Would you rather get free chocolate for one year or free potatoes forever?

Though I love my chocolate, I would go with free potatoes. I love potatoes and can cook them many different ways so that they don't ever get boring. Actually going to make potatoes for dinner tonight.

Have a great week everyone.

Feel Good Friday

Feel Good Friday is brought to you by The Girl Next Door Grows Up .

You know what time of the week it is ~ YES!!! It is Friday and that can only mean one thing. Okay, it means more then one thing, but for this post it means:

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY

As you can see I've been slacking a bit on the blog for the past week to 10 days. Being sick has really wore me out. Plus, trying to get things done around here has been time consuming as well.

I'm not going to make a big list this week, I'm just going to mention something that made me feel good this morning while I was laying in bed (get your minds out of the gutter) deciding if I wanted to get up or not.

My family!

Not my immediate family (brothers, father, etc). Though, yes they do count and I love them dearly.

I'm talking about my husband and my little girl.

Up to about 3-4 years ago I never thought that I would have my own family. I had been single for a long time and there were no prospects on the horizon for me. I've always been the type of girl that had mostly guy friends, and none of them were dating prospects. They would see me as their little sister and things along those lines.

My Moms use to tell me all the time (I miss you Moms) that I would never meet anyone staying in the house all the time. Which I admitted I did. She was right.

Then in 2007 a friend introduced me to my now husband. Both he and I told our friend the same thing "well we'll meet for coffee anf talk, but I'm not promising anything."

The first conversation wasn't coffee, but sitting in my driveway in his truck. At first it was a little awkward, but soon the minutes turned into hours. At the end he gave me a picture of him in his race car, and from then on out we were together.

Then my little angel came into the picture and I fell in love all over again.

So ladies and gents, this is my Feel Good Friday story and what made me feel good this morning. My family. Yes, we have had our ups and downs, but alot of couples do. The main thing is that we are able to work through them. It might take a day or two, but we know it is worth fighting for.

Have a great and safe holiday weekend everyone.
