i just wanted to remind everyone how very important it is to GIVE during the holidays. Whatever your situation is, everyone can give something to others who are less fortunate. whether you have a child(ren) and there's a toy they just never got into, donate to toys for tots. if you have some food that you will not use, donate to your local pantry so others can have a holiday and fill their family's bellies. if you leave walmart with the change you got back from the cashier, put it in the salvation army bell ringer's bucket because they are out there for a great cause. i also like to buy the bellringer some cookies, candy canes, or a coffee to show my appreciation. i also bought an elderly man who was sitting alone at denny's his meal last year around christmas. even if you can't find any spare money, you can always bake cookies for an individual who doesn't have family to celebrate with, help a food pantry give out holiday meals, help out at a soup kitchen, or even arrange for card-writing for a nursing home or the military overseas. it is so important and i really urge others to give back. everyone falls on hard times and it feels great to know you did something for someone else.

All my life my dad taught me to give to others and help them out.. Well I did just that. I was homeless, with nothing but my car, the love of my children and family. Why it was because I promised an elderly cousin (from previous marriage) that he would never have to enter in a nursing home. There was not reason for me to live in a home when I knew there would come a day, I would need to take care of him. For over 10 years I cared for him. As hard at it was the last 4 months I moved in. He did not believe in Christmas (so he said) but he was a strong Christian. After his passing (all his family lived in the UK) the family refused to let me sell the home and give them money. They gifted the home to me. I have a home now, and it is filled with all the Christmas items that I have kept over the years and paid for in storage and handed down to me from my Granny. Though I am disabled I recently moved in my mother downstairs. She never owned her own home. So we share ownership. She is now a homeowner too. I will probably loose my mom soon, but I am making sure that her dream to own her own home and be self independent comes true. We have been fixing up under the deck for her expansion. On a fixed disabled income that is not easy. I use Home depot for the items we need. So a gift card would be awesome. She has also always dreamed of having Church Bell Wind Chimes. Due to the lack of money resources, I found some old pipe. I am doing all my best to make her dreams come true. I am making those Windchimes from my heart. Not everything during Christmas is bought to make other happy, it really is about giving from the heart. I was blessed so I am passing that blessing on.. My children understand the lack of money for gifts from momma.. Which is another unselfish blessing passed along. You see Traditions, no matter how great or small. It is what warms the heart of the giver and babe that was born upon this festive event. Merry Christmas to all who read this. May many blessing come your way.

Thank you for the opportunity to win. I would love to give the Home Depot gift card to my brother Matt as a small Christmas gift because he has invested a lot of time and money in building a home for his new family. His son was born on September 23rd. Matt bought a house a few months ago, invested over 250 hours to fix it up, and over $30,000 in repairs.
