Batteries.
Yes batteries.
We need them in our lives there is absolutely no way around it. Whether it be for your enjoyment (such as with an iPod), emergency (emergency radio when power goes out), or for things like your watch, we just need them.
My family goes through quite a few batteries. Why? Because of the little one's toys. It seems that nowadays all the toys that she will play with require batteries. So, I am always on a mission to find the best bang for my buck. I want batteries that are reasonably priced but will last more then a couple of hours with non-stop play.
When Christine at Rayovac offered me the chance to do a review for a couple of their products, I jumped at the chance. They were also kind enough to donate a couple of items to giveaway to my readers.
The products I received to review were:
Platinum Charger with AA and AAA batteries included, which can be found on Amazon on sale right now.
Also, Platinum AA 4-pack which can be found on Amazon at $9.99.
Included in the package were two extra Platinum Chargers with AA and AAA batteries included to give away to my readers.
Information about batteries and charger (taken from back of package):
- Smart Charger Auto Shut-Off
- Charges 3x Faster
- Charges 2 or 4 AA or AAA
- Safety Timer
- Global Voltage
- Led Indicators
- Fold Out Plug (this is SO HANDY)
- Charges Any NIMH/NICD AA/AAA Battery
- Holds Charge up to 3x LONGER
- Takes up to 16x More Digital Photos
- Recharge 300 times (really, how nice it will be not to have to buy batteries all the time)
- No Memory Effect
- Takes Up To 400 Photos (per charge)
- Works in ALL Chargers
MY OPINION
I sat here trying to think on how I could do a review on batteries. After all, with normal use, batteries can take a long period of time before they are drained and I wanted to get the review underway. Then it hit me. Why not put the batteries in one of her battery eating (where batteries don't last for very long) toys and leave it on non-stop until the batteries die?
So that is what we did.
I found one of her most draining (and by the way, ANNOYING) toys and added batteries and we left it on.
Two hours passed and the toy was still going strong.
Four hours passed and the toy was still going strong.
Another two hours passed and the top was still running, screeching, flipping and flopping.
Then it was time for bed. Surely by morning the batteries would have died.
When I got up at 7 a.m. and checked on the toy it was still going strong.
After 20 and a 1/2 hours of non-stop car racing action, the batteries finally died. Are you kidding me? 20 and a 1/2 hours. Batteries never last that long. Especially in that toy.
Then it was time to try out the charger.
This charger is so lightweight and easy to use. It plugs into your standard wall outlet. Just fold out the plug and plug it in.
It took approximately 3 hours to fully re-charge the batteries (the lights on the front go out to tell you that they are charged), and oh help me, they are back in that car again.
The only thing that I could find that I didn't like and it really isn't a major problem that if you even tap the side of the charger or bump it the batteries will pop out.
I would like to thank Christine and Rayovac again for giving me the opportunity to do a product review and giveaway for them.
