Keeping a toddler diapered

This could go along with potty training, but it is different in its own aspect. How do you keep a toddler diapered? If the only thing my little one has on is a diaper, you can be sure the first time you turn around she is going to be naked somewhere in the house. This leads me to grabbing shorts to put on her so it takes a little more patience for her to get undressed. BUT, she has been able to wiggle out of a pair of shorts, and next thing you know, she is naked and she and the diaper are in seperate rooms.

I use to think that she did it when she was wet, but even today, she got out of two clean diapers within 30 minutes. So, the shorts went on. She is a Houdini in her own right. I think that she really prefers to be diaperless, but then I don't want to have to clean up accidents on the floor. I'm hoping what it all comes down to is: that she is going to be easy to potty train when the time comes.

Potty Training

Though I haven't started yet with the little one, someone sent me this joke that I thought was cute, enjoy!

THE POTTY

A LITTLE THREE YEAR OLD BOY IS SITTING ON THE TOILET. HIS MOTHER
THINKS HE HAS BEEN IN THERE TOO LONG, SO SHE GOES IN TO SEE WHAT'S UP.

THE LITTLE BOY IS SITTING ON THE TOILET READING A BOOK. BUT ABOUT EVERY 10 SECONDS OR SO HE PUTS THE BOOK DOWN, GRIPS ONTO TO THE TOILET SEAT WITH HIS LEFT HAND AND HITS HIMSELF ON TOP OF THE HEAD WITH HIS RIGHT HAND.

HIS MOTHER SAYS: "BILLY, ARE YOU ALL RIGHT? YOU'VE BEEN IN HERE FOR A WHILE.

BILLY SAYS: "I'M FINE, MOMMY.. I JUST HAVEN'T GONE 'DOODY' YET."

MOTHER SAYS: "OK, YOU CAN STAY HERE A FEW MORE MINUTES. BUT
BILLY, WHY ARE YOU HITTING YOURSELF ON THE HEAD?"

BILLY SAYS: "WORKS FOR KETCHUP."

Snacks for your toddlers

Looking for snack ideas for your on the move toddler, I have used some of the following. Remember to never give your toddler anything small/hard/slippery to eat. Always make sure foods/snacks are cut up to the appropriate size for your little one.

1. Low fat string cheese. We buy ours at Sam's Club. I think they are about $7 for a family size package (48 pieces), compared to paying $3 or more for 12 ounces in a store.

2. Grapes. My little one loves grapes. I cut them up into quarters for her. Takes a bit of time but since she loves them I'm willing to do it. Never give your toddler a whole grape, they can choke on them if not chewed properly.

3. Bananas. I have also gotten the small baby bananas as well. She loves them either way.

4. Yogurt is great to keep on hand.

5. Crackers with cheese or peanut butter.

6. Watermelon, strawberries or cantaloupe. Again, I cut these up into bite size pieces for her.

7. Cereal, yes cereal. Easy to grab a handful of cheerios or rice crispies for her to munch on.
