Dr. Sears Zone Diet Product Review & Giveaway

I've always been skeptical of diets.  Eat this, don't eat that.  On one diet you could eat this, but on another they are telling you that is poison and not to eat it.

Where do you begin? Who do you believe?

Like a lot of people, I need to lose some weight, I know that, no one has to tell me that.

When Dr. Sears contacted me about doing a product review of the ZoneFast Weight Loss Program, I decided to take him and his company up on the offer.

This is a two-week program, and each week arrives separately.

This is what your first week package will look like when it arrives, all packaged up.  Your second week package will be similar but without the menu plan,  the getting started booklet or recipe booklet.  You can see what is included in the weekly shipments.

My Opinion:

I love how they lay it all out for you.  They suggest a two week menu for you which includes a recipe booklet so you can follow the recipes.  All is included, snacks as well.   As they say "they take the guesswork out of your meal planning."  It is all right there.

As for the food, like some things, you might need to have an acquired taste for it.  I'm not a huge granola fan, and a couple of times the menu calls for granola and milk.  Then there is the salmon bagel sandwich, not much of a chance of me eating salmon, or the humus.  As I said, an acquired taste might be needed.

But, I was pleasantly surprised at some of the meals.  There is a Tomato Mozzarella Sandwich that it yummy and easy to make.  The snacks are wonderful, cookies, bagel chips, a pretzel that is huge.  They are definitely satisfying.  They don't send your body into shock by removing every carb possible, I mean, you are eating bagels, pretzels, cinnamon toast, rolls and more. I love my bread, so this is a big plus for me.

My main issue with the program is the food that you must buy on the side to go with the meals, and some of the ingredients that they call for.  Doing this 2 week meal plan, I had to buy food for the meals and plus other groceries to make meals for my family.  Makes it difficult, especially if you are on a tight food budget.  But, you can go to Grocery Additions and it gives you hints on what you can add to your 2-week plan to make it work for you.

All and all, I was/am satisfied with this program.  I feel that it is an excellent jump start for people.  They can't make it any easier to follow along with the program.

If you are interested in checking out the 2 week plan you can go here to read more about it or to make a purchase  it for $179.99.

Or, thanks to Dr. Sears and his company graciously offering my readers a chance to win a 2-week shipment for themselves, you can enter below.  We will be giving away, not 1, not 2, but 3, 2-week shipments.  That is right, 3 of you will win!!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr Sears and his daughter Kristin for giving me this opportunity, and giving my readers the opportunity to win as well.

On one-third of the plate put some low-fat protein that is no bigger or thicker than the palm of your hand. Then fill the other two-thirds of the plate with color carbohydrates (vegetables and fruits). Finally add a dash (that’s a small amount) of fat that is low in omega-6 and saturated fats such as olive oil.

Your success in constructing a Zone meal is indicated by lack of hunger for the next four to six hours.

I learned their skincare products are specifically formulated to restore, replenish and protect your skin from pre-mature aging. I didn't know they had skin care to go along with the foods.

I learned that zone protein "decreases the rate of entry of carbohydrates into the blood." This program is designed so you can eat foods you enjoy such as bagels, but because of how the system is structured you are able to reduce cellular inflammation which I think is interesting.
