This movie looks like it will be another one of Hallmark's finest family movies. Great cast.  Looking forward to catching it on at least one of those Friday nights.

Copperhead Movie Ticket & Signed Poster Giveaway

The Civil War movie Copperhead is coming to theaters on June 28th.  This year is the 150th anniversary of the Battle Of Gettysburg.  Do you remember what you were taught in school about the civil war? Zim's Naturally Based Products Review and Giveaway

You really have to love it when a product review comes to you at just the right time.  This is what happened with some products that we received.  Came right at the right time to do a review.

Have you ever heard of Zim's? Zim's is a company that produces naturally based products. They have products for skin care, body care, lip care, first aid, diabetic, pain care, etc.  Zim's was started over 60 years ago in a small town in Ohio and continues to operate there, with hopes of expanding in the future.

I was sent three of their naturally based products to try out and do a product review on.

Remember how I mentioned that these products came at the right time? Well that is because hubby was able to do a "review" or a product "test" on the Max-Freeze and on the Zim's Heat.  

Per the fact sheet: Zim's Max-Freeze Gel "provides a cooling sensation and utilizes a topical analgesic formula to deliver temporary relief to aching muscles and joints." It contains naturally based ingredients like: aloe, Vitamin E and tea tree oil.

Hubby is a hard working man and ended up pulling a muscle in his upper back and neck so he was the one that got to do the product review on this product.  Okay, I participated as I am the one that  had to apply this.    He didn't think that a natural based product would work very well.  The first application of the product didn't do a "whole lot for the pain" as he puts it.  But when we applied a second application of it about 4 hours later he said that it was starting to work.  He was finally able to turn his head a bit again.  We did have to apply it numerous times (going by the directions on the container), before he was able to turn his head without stiffness and pain shooting through his neck.  

The things we didn't like was the strong smell to it and I did find the product to be a bit greasy, kind of like the ones that are on the market today that aren't naturally based.  But, overall he really liked the product and said that we would get some more of it when this bottle was gone. I like the fact that the products are natural in it. 

Zim's Maximum Heat Roll-On "heat based pain relief products with capsaicin for arthritis, stiffness, backache, strains and sprains." It contains the same ingredients that the Max Freeze Gel contains.

This product I got to try out myself.  Being that I have a bad back, it seems like my lower back is aching and stiff most of the time.  Very simple product to use.  No rubbing needed.  You just pop off the cap and rub it on the spot that hurts.  Easy to get it right where you want it being that it is a roll-on.  It did take a few applications through out the day before I started noticing a difference.  Product goes on cold (be prepared, I couldn't believe how cold it felt, or that my skin was really hot), but it heats up pretty quick and does feel good when it is on. Doesn't have a real strong odor to it.  Another product that we will be keeping on hand for the time when you need a little help with a pulled muscle or for stiff fingers from arthritis pain.

Zim's Crack Creme Original Formula: this product has been around for over 60 years.  You know it must be good and work or they would have changed up the formula by now.  "Herbal formula used to soften and moisture dry, cracked skin on hands, feet, elbows and cuticles."  Uses the natural based ingredients aloe vera and arnica.

This product comes in a spray bottle!  Talk about easy application process.  If you are like me, you have weird things that happen to your hands.  During the cold winter months I have one hand that gets dry and cracked skin and hurts, but during the warmer months I have this issue where my hands and fingers will get small water blisters on them, I will mess with them, they will end up breaking and cracking on me making my hands and fingers painful.  

I was able to use this product on my hands and fingers (but be advised if you have broken skin, it does sting for a sec or two) to add moisture back to my skin.  It made my skin feel very soft and smooth.  Goes on easy, not greasy.  Not much of an odor to it. I really can't describe what it smells like, but it isn't anything that is bad to smell.  You can apply this product several times a day.  Just a couple of squirts and rub it in.  I would imagine if you have a problem with your feet cracking it would work well on them as well.

The smelly funk.  No one wants it, but it is a natural occurrence with our bodies.  We live, we sweat, and with the sweat comes odor.  To combat this we take showers and use products to help with that issue.  

I was given the chance to try out three products from the company Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal.

Naturally Fresh Spray Mist Body Deodorant: Contains Aqua and Natural Mineral Salts. Also Hypoallergenic, Fragrance Free, Paraben/PG Free and No Aluminum Chlorohydrate. 

MoistStic Natural Lip Protection w/ Tea Tree Oil ~ Cruelty Free.  Contains: Coconut Oil, Beeswax, Lanolin, Peppermint Oil, Vitamin E and Tea Tree Oil.

All these products are made in the USA.

Company Information  Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal started in 1991 in Pompano Beach, FL. Their products are healthy and natural compared to the conventional deodorants on the market today. The company, founded by Ted and Cathy Alflen, have spent years researching to come up with products are are 100% natural.

With approximately 10% of the population not able to use conventional deodorants these products can be an alternative solution.

My review:

I have to say my interest was piqued when it came to these products.  I don't like to have a funky odor, ever, and when I read that they were all natural with no harmful contents and of course, made here in the wonderful USA, I knew I wanted to try them. 

I must say up front though, that of right now I am still battling bronchitis and have been running a fever, thus sweating, A LOT, so these products were going to have to really work overtime to help me out of that "funk." 

I have been using the MoistStic since it arrived.  I do have to say that this product works great.  My lips have been so dry and chapped from being sick and this lip product really helped me out.  The mixture of the natural ingredients in this really works.  It helped with the chapping and kept them from cracking anymore.  I would definitely recommend this product.

As for the Spray Mist Deodorant and the Roll-On Deodorant, like I said, they probably didn't have a chance.  As noted: It does claim that because everyone's body is completely different sometimes the product works immediately and sometimes it can take up to 2-3 weeks before your body adjusts to it.  Also, you have to remember that these products are not antiperspirants, so you will continue to sweat (I did, fever . . . ) but you just won't have the underarm odor that comes with it.   The products also state that they can work for up to 24 hours of protection.

I actually found that the Roll-On Deodorant did a decent job, considering what my body has been going through.  It did take away that immediate odor, it didn't last the full 24 hours, but that is understandable.  Same with the Spray Mist.  Oh, by the way, the Spray Mist does double duty, you can also use it on your feet!!!! YAY!!!!  It didn't last the full 24, but it did work for a while and it worked much better on my feet.  

I do like these products as well and would recommend them.  I want to be able to give them a good chance when I'm no longer sick and running a fever, thus sweating up a storm., as I love to find new products that are all natural that do not put a hurting on our bodies.

NeoCell Beauty Bursts Product Review and Giveaway

Happily, I get to work with a company that I have in the past.  

Perhaps you remember my other NeoCell product review which you can locate: HERE.  

This time I am doing a product review for NeoCell Beauty Bursts.

My Review: NeoCell's Beauty Bursts Gourmet Collagen Soft Chews.  

Per serving: 2,000 MG Collagen
Lactose Free, Gluten Free, No Artificial Flavors.

"Feed your skin with delectable bursts of nutrients." Contains Collagen Type 1&3 for Skin Rebuilder, Hyaluronic Acid for a Skin Hydrator and Vitamin C for Collagen Enhancement.

Other ingredients include: Brown rice syrup, evaporated cane syrup, soy lecithin, palm/sunflower oil, citric acid +.  This product does contain Soy.

This product is used for building beautiful and radiant skin, strengthening hair and nails.  After the age of 25 our skin starts to decline . . . .I know, I know.  We all want to remain youthful, with beautiful skin and hair, but let's face it, not all of us can.  Me included.  Why wouldn't you want to take something that could help you? Just as easy as opening up the package and taking 2-4 bursts a day. Beats putting your body through some sort of radical surgery.  

My results: I have been using this product for about 10 days now and I have noticed a bit of a difference in my skin, hair and nails.  Seems like I have more of a glow than normal.  Also, I noticed (and guys, you might want to cover your eyes with this part), during my "cycle" I noticed that my face didn't break out as much as it normally does with the switch in hormones.  My nails do seem to be stronger as well.  Not breaking them like I normally do, just doing little things around the house.  As for my hair (which is a big problem for me), I have noticed not as many breaking.  

I am always skeptical of vitamin products that I take, especially ones that you chew.  I mean, you want the product to taste good, or you will stop taking them and therefore you will not reap any of the benefits.  These have a good flavor to them.  No aftertaste, whatsoever.  **Please note, they do taste like candy and look like candy, so please keep away from your children. As always, please consult your physician before starting a new vitamin regimen. 

Final analysis: I plan to keep taking this product and see if my skin, hair and nails really improve.

Ride Along Dolly - Doll Bicycle Seat Product Review

Our little one finally got to do a product review of her own when we got chosen to do a review of the Ride Along Dolly - Doll Bicycle Seat.  She was so excited when I let her open up the box and she seen that it was something for her.

This is a "replica" of the bicycle seats you see for children on their parents bikes.  

She had a blast with this.  "What fun!" is what she kept saying as she was giving her dolly's a ride all around the driveway and the yard.  Though, she was quite shy and wouldn't let me take a picture of her riding the bike. 

It also came with stickers so that she was able to decorate the bike seat the way she wanted to.  

She really did have fun with this, and when we go outside to play the first thing that she wants to do is give a dolly or one of her stuffed animals a ride. She straps them in and off they go for fun and adventures. 

As for assembly it took my husband about 5 minutes to get it out of the box and hooked on to the bike.  Very easy assembly.  The seat will fit all dolls and stuffed animals from 18" up to 22" and up to 3lbs.  It is also very durable.  It has been in a couple of "accidents" and there are no cracks or markings on it.  You can see that they will easily fit on smaller type bikes as well as bigger ones.

I really do believe that your child will love this item.  I know that our child does. This would make the perfect birthday, Christmas, or just because present.

Happy Beginnings: How I Became My Own Fairy Godmother Book Review

I have to admit that doing a book review is making me have flashbacks to school.  Trying to come up with the right words on if I liked the book or not and worried that I am going to be graded on it.

But, being an adult, the grading time has passed and I just let the words flow out now.

To start with, I love to read. I could easily go through a book that I was enjoying in a few days.  I'm mainly a fan of light-hearted writings, books on frugality and history.  Okay, unless it is a book that uses 15 letter words every other sentence, I give it a chance and will read it.  That doesn't mean that I finish every book that I start to read.  But, I do give the book and the author a chance to suck me into the story with them.

That (not finishing) wasn't the case here.  I received the opportunity to do a review of the book: "Happy Beginnings: How I Became My Own Fairy Godmother" by Lorena Bathey. 

Ms. Bathey really put me in the story with her.  Like I was one of those reliable "friends" that was there for a quick pick up, an ear to listen, or someone just to do some crazy and fun things with. Reading the story I found myself shaking my head as I am agreeing with what she is saying and what she is feeling.  Feeling let down when that phone call doesn't come in, or when someone, who you thought would be the right one, just turns into another one of life lessons that you must overcome before you are able to find yourself and do what is right for you.  Such as "becoming your own fairy godmother."

The way that Ms. Bathey writes really put a lot of things into perspective for me.  As I mentioned, it really touched home on some aspects.  Before I was married, I was in a lot of the same situations. I would, as well, get way to emotionally drawn in and then feel the world collapse around me when it fell apart.  I see now that some of these situations were learning experiences.  They were "Life Lessons," and they had to happen for me to get to the spot in my life that I am now.

We had quite a bit in common. Both of us losing a parent (our mothers) to cancer and the other parent remarrying. These are real life stories that she is able to find some humor in and keep on living, even through the sad parts.

As she puts it and what a lot of people believe is "everything happens for a reason." I'm a true believer in that.  I have always felt that. But she even brings it home further by saying that there even is a reason for "making those green traffic lights." Life Lessons. It is all about Life Lessons, and when you are able to learn from those lessons, you are able to become "your own fairy godmother.

Finally, I really enjoyed this book.  I do believe it is a must read for women and even men, as I believe it teaches us (or at least points us in the direction that we know we should be heading) on why we are where we are.
