I didn't know that mosquitoes like adult more than children

I learned that: Bright colors have not been proven to attract adult mosquitoes, but strong smells like perfumes, scented soaps, and lotions do. Standing water sources and hot exhaled gases also attract mosquitoes.

I learned that I need to learn more about mosquitos. I have learned some of these things by poor decisions in the past like wearing fruity smelling lotions or perfumes. I found out by experience that they love strong smells.

I wasn't sure about the fragrance but now I do know they are attracted to scents which is tough in the summer because just our deodorants are pungent enough without shampoo conditioner and body lotions. Oh well guess Ill be stinky all summer so I don't get bit...

Newly hatched larvae are small and can be difficult to see as they grow, so disturb the surface of standing water and watch for moving specks.

I learned that even just an inch of standing water is enough for mosquitos to breed.

Pooch said...

Mosquitoes prefer adults over children because they have more CO2.
