A Story Unfinished 99 Days With Eliot Book Review

Wow.

There aren't a lot of books that I read these days that pull me into the story the way: A Story Unfinished: 99 Days With Eliot did.  The book is written by Matt Mooney and goes into detail of their days, both before, during and after with Eliot.

There were parts as I was reading I smiled along and many other parts I shed quite a few tears with them.

Quick summary from the back page: 

Eliot wasn't suppose to make it to full term.

At thirty weeks into the pregnancy, Matt and Ginny Mooney were told their child had a genetic disorder that made his birth unlikely. If their baby lived, it would be for only hours or perhaps a few days.

But Eliot was born and lived for 99 days. And every one of those days was a gift that would change his family forever.

At Eliot's funeral, 99 balloons were released, one for each day of his life on earth. That simple act of remembrance stirred the community and received national attention. Eliot's story has been featured on Oprah and the TODAY show, and a video about his life has been seen by millions on YouTube.

And now, Eliot's father, Matt, recounts his family's remarkable journey in A Story Unfinished, a chronicle of pain, redemption, and God's goodness even in the darkest days.

I can't say that I know what this family went through with this precious baby, but they took me along for the ride with them and it was quite the journey.

Decisions that they had to make along the way, decisions that no one wants to have to make. Deciding to carry Eliot for as long as Ginny could, keeping the faith, praying for a miracle, hoping for the best, and even losing some faith (even for a short period of time) and being mad at the man upstairs. 

Because of Matt and Ginny, Eliot had a chance to live and boy did he. The impact that he made on the lives of thousands of people that were following the story via the blog and facebook postings. Everyday for Eliot was a celebration and a chance to do something new. How many of us can say that at 20 days old we went out for coffee? Birthday celebrations were daily, little milestones that most take for granted were a cause for celebration. 

Little Eliot touched so many lives and taught so many lessons and his memory lives on through the 99 Balloons Foundation which is a rEcess site, "building relationships through serving families affected by a disability."  If you are wondering where the name 99 Balloons came from, that is how many days that little Eliot was living his life, and he lived so much life in those 99 days.  On the day of his funeral, 99 balloons were released into the sky. 

If you get a chance to read this book, I really recommend that you do. It is available on Amazon right now. I would just recommend reading it with tissues nearby, but don't be sad for to long while reading it, be happy, live with Eliot, live with his memory, go for the ride for it is a ride that you will always remember.

As noted from the last sentence of the book: "The story is not finished yet."

I absolutely love the fragrance of this. It isn't overbearing at all and leaves your hands smelling quite fresh.

See all those little micro-scrubber beads in there? They help with the cleaning and leave your hands feeling refreshed and a bit moisturized.  Which I really need as this winter has been especially rough on my hands and they are dried and cracked. I was a bit worried where my hands were cracked thinking the soap would sting, but it didn't. 

Truthfully, my hands do feel a lot softer right now! It really gives your hands a refreshing moisture! 

Didn't get a big "lather" on the washing, but enough of one to get my hands clean!

The product is very easy to rinse off and comes in a wonderful pump bottle. No leaving wet soap just sitting around. Easy to pump. No mess, no fuss. Even my 6-year old can wash her hands without making a mess with the soap and she loves the pumping action. It actually makes her wash her hands more times then is probably really necessary. This is a great Family Soap.

If you haven't tried the Dial Deep Cleansing Hand Soaps yet, you really should. They are relatively inexpensive and you get a good size bottle (many uses) for your buck and it is a premium soap!

Majestical Jewelry Review

Who doesn't love jewelry?

I don't wear a lot, mainly necklaces, wedding set, medical alert bracelet, etc.

So I was super happy when I got the chance to do a review for Majestical Jewelry.  Their jewelry is absolutely stunning.  Majestical is an online-store that specializes in hand-made jewelry. So, you know what that means: gorgeous one of a kind pieces. 

I was sent a gorgeous pair of earrings to do my review on.

The colors are beautiful!

Unfortunately, I don't have pierced ears anymore. ;-(

So, I had to enlist the help of a reluctant friend to put the earrings on so I could snap a picture of them and to get her opinion on them as well.

 She, like me, loved the colors but said she isn't use to wearing earrings that are dangling, so they felt kind of heavy to her. She did mention that if it is someone that is use to wearing this type of earrings they probably would not notice the weight of them. She also mentioned that she could probably get use to wearing them. They aren't "overstated", they don't take your attention away from other parts of your face, but instead "compliment" your face and what you are wearing. 

Overall, we both did really like them and love the Majestic Jewelry website. They have so many beautiful selections I am sure that anyone can find that something special for that someone special in their life.

K9 Advantix II Review

Our pup was a rescue when we got him and was just LOADED WITH FLEAS.  After many many baths and combings we thought we had started to get it under control, that is, until I started to get "bit up" my those hopping little pests. They are truly ankle biters because that is where they always bit me

So we were happy when we found out that we were going to get to do a product review for the K9 Advantix II from EntirelyPets. 

Oh and this is our "beast" you may recognize him from a previous product review and a giveaway we did for EntirelyPets.

Again, he was loaded with fleas when we went and got him. I didn't realize how bad it was until I had him outside and we were rubbing his belly. Poor pup.

It has been about a month since we used the first application on him and I have only found one flea in that time. It could be that it is winter time and most of them have died off, but I do believe that this product is working the way it should.

I can't wait to really test it out when the spring time gets here. That is when the fleas get bad. Oh and the ticks. He had a big tick on him last year and must have brought one in the house because I ended up with one as well and had to go through a strong dose of antibiotics that really put a hurting on me. 

It was easy to apply. Just put drops from the base of the head to the base of the tail, by spreading out their fur and getting it on the skin. My boy is short haired, so not sure how easy it would be to apply to a long haired pup.

The box I was sent was a 4-month supply, so we should be able to get through the spring with it and into the summertime. You can find this product on the EntirelyPets website for a price of $65, but they do have a March Madness sale going on right now so you can get the product and many other pet products at a discounted price.  They use flat-rate shipping and offer free shipping if your total is $85 or more.

Also: Please and there is a warning on the box, keep it away from both your other animals (like cats) and your children. The box is also colored coded for the weight of your pup, make sure that you get the right product for your doggie. 

Final conclusion: As of right now, I give the product an A+ for effectiveness and ease of apply it to my pup. The real test of it will come when the weather gets warmer and the fleas and the ticks come out to play after a long winters nap.
